About

Ryan Nelson

Early Years

Ryan is a London based fine jewellery designer and maker. His passion for making was realised at the tender age of 10 when he first picked up a file in his father's workshop. The desire to cut, burn and bend everything in sight set a good foundation for the curiosity and creativity required to become one of Hatton Gardens most well known jewellers.

Education

Since those early days, Ryan has undergone extensive training in all aspects of fine jewellery fabrication. This includes a pre apprenticeship year at the famous Sir John Cass Faculty of Arts in Whitechapel, known now as London Metropolitan University. This was followed by a five year apprenticeship with one of London's most respected jewellers earning him that coveted Goldsmiths status along with becoming a Freeman of the City of London. A further three years were spent improving and finessing the art of fine jewellery making before Ryan moved on to his next challenge.

New Beginnings

In 2013 Ryan was ready for a new challenge and left the company that had taught him his trade. He set up his own small jewellery studio and has gone from strength to strength, creating hundreds of stunning pieces - Ryan Nelson London was born.
